Petrol chemical plant catches in Pasir Gudang

PASIR GUDANG: About 40 firemen had to work through seven hours to put out a fire at a petrol chemical plant in Jalan Perak, Pasir Gudang industrial area here.

The fire broke out at the plant around midnight.

A Pasir Gudang fire and Rescue department spokesman said they received a call around 11.41pm and immediately firemen were despatched to the site.

The firemen had to battle for seven hours to bring the fire under control, he added.

He said there were no casualties.

The department is investigating the cause of the fire.
